Ander Crenshaw Wins Another Term in Congress

Republican U.S. Rep. Ander Crenshaw is headed back to Washington. While the veteran legislator did not face a Democratic opponent, he did face a spirited challenge from conservative businessman and Navy vet Troy Stanley, a tea party favorite, who ran with no party affiliation. With more than 116,000 votes counted, Crenshaw had more than 78 percent while Stanley took more than 21.5 percent.

Marco Rubio Headed to U.S. Senate

That was quick! At 8 p.m., just as the polls closed on the Panhandle, there was a winner declared in Florida. Former House Speaker Marco Rubio was declaredwinner of the U.S. Senate race -- defeating Gov. Charlie Crist, who was running with no party affiliation, and Democratic nominee U.S. Rep. Kendrick Meek. With 35 percent of the vote in, Rubio took 50 percent while Crist took 29 percent and Meek lagged in third with 20 percent.

Connie Mack's Back in Washington

Republican U.S. Rep. Connie Mack, who has his eye on running for the U.S. Senate in 2012, won another term in Congress. Mack had two opponents -- whom he defeated handily: Democrat James Roach and real estate developer William Maverick St. Claire, who ran with no party affiliation. With 23 percent of the vote in, Mack took 69 percent while Roach placed second with 27 percent. If Republicans pick up the House, Mack will be chairman of the House Subcommittee on the Western Hemisphere.

Marco Rubio, International Rock Star?

The victory party's already rocking at the Biltmore in Coral Gables where 300-plus journalists -- not only from Florida but from all over the world -- are jockeying for position in a cavernous ballroom. Only thing missing is the victor.

One bowled-over British photographer asked Sunshine State News, "What a madhouse. Will Rubio run for president in 2012?"

Who knows. But Charlie Crist might hope so. He'll be looking for a race to suit up for.
