Home prices across the U.S., aided by two Florida metropolitan areas,ended 2012 with the largest gain since the housing market began to crash, according to figures released Tuesday by S&P Dow Jones.
The S&P/Case-Shiller Home Price Indices, a leading barometer of U.S. home prices, revealed the best year-over-year gain, through December, in home prices since July 2006. Its 10-city index showed prices up 5.9 percent, while the 20-city composite showed annual returns of 6.8 percent.

Miami's Spanish-language Univision TV network has leapfrogged powerhouse NBC during the most important month for television ratings, a telling sign of the Hispanic audience's expansion nationwide.
In the latest numbers from the February sweeps, Univision finished in fourth place, behind CBS, Fox and ABC. NBC rounded out the top five for the first time in history. Univision had never beaten NBC in the ratings race.

The Orlando City Council has moved to buy land spanning two blocks in the citys downtown, which could be the future site of a soccer stadium for the Orlando City Lions.
The council took action Monday, accepting a deal to purchase four parcels of land one block from the Orlando Magics home court, the Amway Center, for $4 million, according to the Orlando Sentinel.
