David Jolly, lobbyist and former top staffer to the late U.S. Rep. C.W. Bill Young, announced Saturday he'll be running for the District 13 House seat in Pinellas County.
Jolly, a Republican, said in an interview Saturday he decided to run after former St. Petersburg Mayor Rick Baker said he wouldn't be running for the seat.

After much speculation, former Florida and Democrat convert Charlie Crist has filed paperwork to run for his old job with his new party in 2014.The state Division of Elections posted the filing on its website Friday.
It's expected Crist will make an official announcement Monday morning in St. Petersburg.
