Florida Private Sector Creates 20,900 Jobs in March

Gov. Rick Scott announced Friday that Floridas private sector created 20,900 jobs over the month in March.

Since December 2010, Florida has added 563,900 private-sector jobs.

According to a press release, Floridas over-the-year job growth rate in March of 3 percent represents the fastest job growth rate since June 2006.

Miami Dade School Board member Carlos Curbelo, who is running for the Republican nomination to challenge U.S. Rep. Joe Garcia, D-Fla., was included in the National Republican Congressional Committees (NRCC) Contender tier of Young Guns.

After losing control of the U.S. House in 2006, younger Republicans in Congress -- namely U.S. Majority Leader Eric Cantor, R-Va., U.S. House Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., and U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wis.-- crafted the Young Gun program to help GOP congressional hopefuls campaign and raise funds.

Rick Scott Launches Northrop Grumman Center in St. Augustine

Gov. Rick Scott helped dedicate Northrop Grumman Corp.'s Aircraft Integration Center of Excellence in St. Augustine on Thursday. Northrop Grumman is building two centers in Florida with 1,000 new jobs coming to Melbourne and 400 to St. Augustine.
