Gus Bilirakis Announces Committee Assignments

U.S. Rep. Gus Bilirakis, R-Fla., announced on Wednesday he will continue to serve on the House Energy and Commerce Health Committee. Bilirakis will also be on the Subcommittee on Health, the Subcommittee on Communications and Technology and the Subcommittee on Commerce, Manufacturing, and Trade.

Rick Scott Slams Obama's Net Neutrality Proposal

On Wednesday, Gov. Rick Scott, R-Fla., slammed President Barack Obamas call for Net neutrality. Last month Obama called for the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to implement Internet neutrality -- at least, not without a fight. And one of the largest groups representing Florida's business community has spoken up in opposition to Net neutrality, as well. Obama said the FCC needs to do more to ensure Internet providers offer additional transparency and don't block or slow down access to sites.

Marco Rubio: Domestic Violence in Sports has 'Deep Impacts Throughout Society'

In the aftermath of Ray Rice being reinstated to play in the National Football League (NFL) after being indicted for third-degree assault on his fianc, now his wife, U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., talked about domestic violence and sports on Tuesday. Rubio spoke on the topic during a Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee meeting.
