As one of his final acts as Florida's 45th governor, Rick Scott announced Friday evening 38 reappointments and 38 appointments to multiple state boards. Here is the listing:

Florida Polytechnic University Board of Trustees

Robert Stork, 67, of Vero Beach, is the founder and chief executive officer of Communications International, Inc. Stork is reappointed for a term beginning January 4, 2019, and ending June 30, 2022. The appointment is subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.

Florida, like many areas of the country, has a housing affordability problem. Since the 1990s, the cost of a rent or a purchase is rising faster than the cost of construction, squeezing the household budgets of middle- and lower-income families. And the difference is quite a disparity.

Gov.-elect Ron DeSantis announced Thursday the appointment of former director of the Federal Bureau of Prisons and retired United States Army Major General Mark Inch as secretary of the Florida Department of Corrections. 

Gov.-elect Ron DeSantis announced Thursday two central communications staff members who will be joining the Executive Office of the Governor (EOG) -- Meredith Beatrice as deputy communications director and Dave Vasquez as press secretary. Beatrice and Vasquez will join the communications office in the EOG led by Director of Communications Helen Aguirre Ferré.

Gov.-elect Ron DeSantis announced Thursday the appointment of former secretary of the Department of Management Services Chad Poppell as secretary of the Florida Department of Children and Families. An experienced public servant, Poppell will lead the agency beginning as the DeSantis-Nuñez Administration takes office.

Attorney General-elect Ashley Moody announced Wednesday key staff appointments in her administration: John Guard will serve as chief deputy attorney general; Richard Martin as general counsel; Dan Olson as governmental affairs director; Erica Geiger as director of special projects and initiatives; and Lauren Schenone as director of public affairs. Whitney Ray will continue in his current role as director of communications.

Gov.-elect Ron DeSantis announced Wednesday the appointment of former First District Court of Appeal judge and former secretary of the Department of Business and Professional Regulation Simone Marstiller as secretary of the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ). 

Gov.-elect Ron DeSantis on Wednesday named four additions to the Executive Office of the Governor. These key hires include Chris Spencer, who will join the administration as policy director; Justin Caporale as director of external affairs; and Amanda Emmons and Makenzi Mahler as director of scheduling and director of appointments, respectively.

Outgoing Gov. Rick Scott announced on Friday that the state unemployment rate dropped from 3.4 percent to 3.3 percent in November, the lowest rate in 12 years.
