Benghazi and 'Untrustable' Hillary

October 22, 2015 - 7:00am

Kevin McCarthy was factually right -- if grammatically and politically wrong -- when he told Sean Hannity that the House's Benghazi committee demonstrated Hillary Clinton was "untrustable." The Clinton-pleasers in the media like NBC's Andrea Mitchell almost glowed as they proclaimed McCarthy had offered a "political lifeline" to Clinton by admitting to a political agenda to get at her, using that tragedy.

A New History on Reagan's 'Last Act'

October 17, 2015 - 7:00am

Craig Shirley has already written two terrific history books about Ronald Reagan, chronicling the 1976 and 1980 presidential campaigns. Now he has delivered the trifecta: "Last Act: The Final Years and Emerging Legacy of Ronald Reagan."

Bullying Ben Carson, Coddling Democrats

October 14, 2015 - 5:30pm

We've been waiting for the media attacks on Ben Carson to begin. To this point he'd been (relatively) untouched: He wasn't viewed as a credible threat. But his numbers aren't receding. They're growing. So he's now in the crosshairs.

Comcast Rolls Over for Hillary

October 10, 2015 - 7:00am

In June, Comcast executive vice president David Cohen hosted a $2,700-a-plate fundraiser for Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign. On the first weekend in October, the NBC Universal in-kind contributions really kicked in: a star turn on "Saturday Night Live," a Sunday morning interview with Rev. Al Sharpton, and a Monday town hall meeting on the "Today" program.

Media Trust Hits All-Time Low

October 1, 2015 - 7:00am

Washington Post political reporter Chris Cillizza is one of those self-impressed Watergate babies who thinks everything the media report brings great value to society. His latest article was titled "Trust in the media is at an all-time low. That's a terrible thing for all of us."

Catholics, Muslims and Sex-Abuse Double Standards

September 28, 2015 - 7:00am

They call it "bacha bazi," translated as "boy play" -- Afghan militia men throwing boys into sexual slavery. What's worse yet, the U.S. military has turned a blind eye to this obscene practice. The front page of The New York Times carried the headline "US Soldiers Told to Ignore Sexual Abuse of Boys by Afghan Allies."

No 'Mainstream' Air Time for Mark Levin

September 12, 2015 - 7:00am

Mark Levin's new book "Plunder and Deceit" has been No. 1 on the New York Times bestseller list for five weeks in a row. As with his other best-sellers, no liberal journalist will read it, no liberal newspaper will review it, and no liberal network would imagine calling up Levin for an interview. They are too busy advocating tolerance and diversity.

Katrina, 10 Years Later

September 3, 2015 - 7:00am

Ten years have elapsed since one of the most amazing cases of Republican-bashing media bias in the television era began. The media elites laugh when preachers say immorality causes God to send hurricanes, but they suggested with straight faces that Hurricane Katrina was a death sentence President George W. Bush and his cronies brought to the less fortunate.

When Child Sex Abuse Gets Ignored

August 29, 2015 - 7:00am

The double standard our media impose on child sexual abuse is garishly obvious. On Aug. 14, The Washington Post set the stage for the coming American visit of Pope Francis with another splashy front-page story on a man still berating the Catholic Church after being abused by a priest from 1969 to 1976.

TV Networks Make Waves for Trump

August 26, 2015 - 9:00pm

The fascination of the news media with Donald Trump is ironic, to say the least. For people who have long lamented the domination of Big Money in politics, these reporters are presenting Mr. Big Money himself with a ticker tape parade of free media.

It could be considered hypocritical, too. Big Money is a bad thing -- unless they're the ones making it. Fox's 24 million viewers for their debate proved Trump's market value; ever since that debate, it's been all media, all the time for him.
