George Soros
Watch out for George Soros. He's buying politicians in Florida again.

On Monday, Gov. Rick Scott sent the following letter to U.S. Secretary of State Michael Pompeo to congratulate him on his confirmation. Scott also urged Pompeo to focus on Latin America and act to stop the spread of totalitarianism and repression stemming from Cuba. Scott’s letter is below:

Trey Gowdy's emotions sometimes bubble disconcertingly close to the surface, but unlike many members of the political class, he is not all surface. At a breakfast four years ago, the South Carolina Republican had tears in his eyes as he explained when he would leave Congress: after Tim Scott, a Republican congressman who had been appointed to the Senate in 2013 when Jim DeMint resigned, had been elected in his own right. Not many stories bring me to my knees. But what happened to one 59-year-old woman appearing for a Broward County bond hearing in first-appearance court April 15 shot straight through my heart.

David Hogg
Parkland shooting spokesperson David Hogg is not slowing down his media push. The ever-present Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School student has become emboldened by the mainstream press lending its full support to his anti-gun activism.

For the first time in the history of the republic, it appears increasingly likely that a majority of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee will vote against the president's nominee for secretary of state. If this happens, it would be a black mark not on Mike Pompeo's record, but on the reputation of this once-storied committee.

In Florida’s legislative session, a bipartisan supermajority passed a bill, House Bill 631, that provides uniformity in how we preserve the public’s recreational use of the beaches, even when a portion of that beach is on private property. In politics, nothing truly controversial gets lopsided support from both parties.

Sheriff Scott Israel with Gov. Rick Scott
Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel is a lot like Punxsutawney Phil, the groundhog who scurried out of his marmot hole in February -- and was so fearful of his own shadow, he scampered back below f

In a recent Miami Herald article, Bill Nelson said he doesn’t need to do anything to motivate African American voters.

All it took was John Morgan, the father of Florida’s marijuana movement, to call Gwen Graham out on her position on legalizing marijuana for her to start doing political gymnastics again!

On Wednesday, U.S. Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, the chairwoman of the U.S. House Middle East and North Africa Subcommittee, held a hearing on “Libya Fractured: The Struggle for Unity.” Her opening statement is below.

Coral Gables Mayor Raul Valdes-Fauli and Gov. Rick Scott
The lawsuit against Gov. Rick Scott and other state officials over state gun laws is a phony. The 12 mayors who signed onto Weston v. Scott know it; now they're doing what they can to look out for themselves, constituents be damned.
