Bill Aims to Close Revolving Door Between AG, Probed Companies

A trio of Democratic state lawmakers say they'll file legislation to prevent lawyers who leave the attorney general's office or certain other agencies from going to work for a company that had been under investigation while they were there.

The move is in response to one former lawyer in the attorney general's office having done that, but there are at least two other lawyers who worked for the office who also worked for some of the foreclosure-related law firms and services companies that have been under investigation by the state.

Group Plans Lawsuit Over Textbook Adoption Changes

A Boca Raton group that believes some Florida textbooks are slanted to favor Islamic beliefs plans to file a lawsuit against the state of Florida and Gov. Rick Scott for approving a new law that changes the state's textbook adoption process.

Citizens for National Security will file its lawsuit Thursday in a Palm Beach County circuit court, saying the new law violates the state Constitution's promise of a "high-quality" education.

Jon Huntsman focused on the Sunshine State Wednesday when he unveiled the endorsement of Jeb Bush Jr.,son of the former Florida governor andheir to one of the most prominent political dynasties in American history.

Huntsman and Bush held an event in Coconut Grove to announce the endorsement. The former Utah governor had served Bushs grandfather, President George H.W. Bush, in the Commerce Department and as ambassador to Singapore.
