Sen. Oscar Braynon Files Docs vs. Glocks Repealer
A 2011 law restricting how doctors can talk to patients about guns would be repealed under a bill filed Tuesday in the state Senate.
Sen. Oscar Braynon, D-Miami Gardens, filed the measure (SB 314) to repeal the 2011 "Firearm Owners' Privacy Act," which isn't currently being enforced because a federal judge threw it out in July. The state, however, is appealing that ruling.
The law prevents doctors from asking patients questions about whether they have guns in their house.
Rick Scott Brings on Two More Job Creators
Gov. Rick Scott appears to have upped his crisscrossing of the state since the start of the new year to announce the Sunshine State was getting new private sector jobs, something he described Tuesday morning as both the greatest success of his first two years and the greatest failure.
On Tuesday, the announcements were for 110 jobs and $6.6 million in capital investments by Morgan Stanley (NYSE: MS) in Temple Terrace and 16 jobs in Manatee County with the expansion of the aviation and marine products manufacturer Radiant Power Corp.

Senate Commerce Backs Anti-Outsourcing Bill
A bill to require call center companies contracted with the state to employ U.S. workers is once again on the move in the Senate.
No companion effort has been filed in the House, which last year failed to take up the issue that approved unanimously by the entire Senate.
On Tuesday, without debate, the Senate Commerce and Tourism Committee unanimously supported Senate Bill 90, titled American Jobs, which would require call centers with contracts of at least $35,000 -- as well as subcontractors -- to use American workers.
