Visit Florida unveiled a new Central Florida amusement park-centered spring ad campaign as part of its Must Be the Sunshine effort as Gov. Rick Scott and the Florida Cabinet kicked off the 2013 Florida State Fair in Tampa on Thursday.

This new TV ad campaign from VISIT FLORIDA is the newest part of their work to make Florida the No. 1 travel destination in the world, Scott stated in a release of the one-minute spot that plays up Disney, Universal, SeaWorld and Busch Gardens and the states Viva 500 celebration.

U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Miami, is becoming more and more the GOPs go-to guy as leaders seek to put a fresh face on the party after the 2012 election.

Rubio was named Wednesday to give the Republican response to President Obamas State of the Union Address next Tuesday.

And the former Florida House speaker will give the pre-planned response in both English and Spanish.

The House Republicans, in serious trouble with public opinion as they blinked facing the "fiscal cliff" over New Year's, seem suddenly to be playing a more successful game -- or rather, games -- an inside game and an outside game.

House Democrats worry that election campaign finance reforms now moving through the Legislature could become costly, overburdening work for state elections officials who would have to record how every dollar is spent in every future campaign.

The author of the bill says that is the price of making sure the source and use of every dollar spent in an election is disclosed to the public.
