BREAKING: Democratic Rep. John Patrick Julien of North Miami 'Considering a Party Switch'

Sources close to Democratic state Rep. John Patrick Julien of North Miami have told Sunshine State News the Haitian legislator is "considering a party switch," in light of treatment he's received at the hands of the Florida Democratic Party.

The news comes just one day after Julien's attorney, former Republican state Rep. J.C. Planas, told the News his client would "probably" be appealing his August primary election defeat to the Florida House of Representatives.

BREAKING: Rep. John Patrick Julien to Appeal Primary Defeat to Florida House

Shortly after concluding arguments on behalf of client Rep. Mack Bernard, D-West Palm Beach, before a three-judge panel of theFlorida 1st District Court of Appeal, former Republican state representative J.C. Planas told Sunshine State News another of his clients, Rep. John Patrick Julien, D-North Miami, will "probably" be appealing his own trial court defeat to the Florida House of Representatives.

"We're looking at a House challenge," Planas told the News.

BREAKING: Circuit Judge John C. Cooper Denies RPOF Motion to Dismiss Suit by Jim Greer

Judge John C. Cooper of the Second Judicial Circuit Court of Floridahas just denied motions by former state Sen. Mike Haridopolos, state Sen. John Thrasher, and the Republican Party of Florida to dismiss a lawsuit brought against them by former RPOF Chairman Jim Greer. The lawsuit alleges the parties failed to follow through with their end of a severance agreement when Greer resigned in disgrace as RPOF chairman.

Newsmax Magazine Poll: Romney Big Winner of First Debate, Independents Turn on Obama

A Newsmax/InsiderAdvantage Flash Poll conducted immediately after Wednesday's presidential debate finds that Mitt Romney won by a significant margin,52 percent to Obama's 45 percent.

Pollster Matt Towery says "the results largely followed party lines, but independents broke in favor of Romney, moving the dial in his favor."

The poll sampled 373 likely voters nationwide, with a margin of error of 5 points.

Florida Environmental Groups Come Out Against Amendments 3 and 4

The Florida Current reportsthatseveral environmental groups are opposing, or considering whether to oppose, two measures appearing on the ballot in November: the Florida State Revenue Limitation Amendment (Amendment 3) and the Florida Property Tax Amendment (Amendment 4).

1000 Friends of Florida, Audubon Florida, and Sierra Club Floridaare each expressing concerns that the amendments will limit state revenue to various environmental programs.
