Whose Scott-McCollum Poll Came Closest? Ours, Ours, Ours!
Yoooo-hoooo, George Bennett ... We're over here, we're over here!
I don't really like blowing our own horn, George, but in your Wednesday morning blog, "Pollsterpalooza: Who nailed it, who didnt in pre-primary surveys" you didn't mention us. Did I say mention us? You should have started and ended with our Sunshine State News Poll.
From your Palm Beach Post blog: "In the two weeks leading up to Tuesdays Florida primaries, most polls showed GOP establishment favorite Bill McCollum rebounding from outsider Rick Scotts summer surge and regaining a lead in the Republican governors primary. The most notable exception: Democratic firm Public Policy Polling, which on Monday said its weekend polling showed Scott up by 7 points. Scott appears to have won by just under 3 points."
Doggone right, Scott won by just under 3 points. And you know who had it first -- and who wasn't just close, but nailed it like a spike in a railroad sleeper? Sunshine State News Poll, that's who.
One week before the primary, Sunshine State News Poll, conducted by Voter Survey Service of Harrisburg, Pa., had 44 percent for Scott to 42 percent for McCollum. Compare the polls for yourself.
Come on, George. A little respect, please.
