Who Will Rick Scott Root for Friday: Gators or FGCU?

Friday night's NCAA March Madness showdown between two Florida teams -- the University of Florida and Florida Gulf Coast University -- will have at least one conflicted fan in the crowd: Florida's top chief, Gov. Rick Scott.

The governor is in Dallas with his family for the game between the No. 3-seed Gators and the No. 15-seed Eagles. The winner heads to the Elite 8. FGCU is the first 15-seed to ever make it to this round: the Sweet 16.

Scott wasn't ready to commit to one team, saying, I am happy to be in Texas this weekend to celebrate Easter with my family and watch Coach Billy Donovan and the Florida Gators play Coach Andy Enfield and the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles. No matter what great team wins the game tonight, the state of Florida wins. The University of Miami Hurricanes had an incredible season as well. I congratulate the Hurricane players and Coach Jim Larranaga and his staff on their hard work. Its clear that Florida is the best state in the nation for basketball.

The Hurricanes were sent home Thursday night after playing a tough game against Marquette.
