Who’s the Real Democrat Running for U.S. Senate? Who Cares?

Friday afternoon, billionaire candidate Jeff Greene blasted out another e-mail attacking his U.S. Senate primary rival Kendrick Meek for not being a real Democrat.

Meek has made similar accusations, noting Greenes Republican status, pointing out that he ran for office in California as a Republican in the 1980s.

But both are so far behind in the polls, trailing Marco Rubio and Charlie Crist, that Democratic insiders say the big buzz is the party should have put its money behind Crist because neither Meek nor Greene has much of a chance of overtaking the front-runners.

So who is the real Democrat? Who cares?
