White House Joins Snapchat, Gives Behind-The-Scenes Look at SOTU Address

Snapchat users can now get a first-hand peek at what life at the White House is like thanks to the White House's new Snapchat account, which made its debut Monday.

The White House launched the account the day before President Barack Obama's State of the Union address, where the president will address Congress on various issues facing the nation.

The account features clips of the West Wing, Vice President Joe Biden, and even snaps of the presidential dogs, Sunny and Bo.

"There are over 100 million daily active Snapchat users, and over 60 percent of American smartphone users between the ages of 13 and 34 use the platform," the White House said in a statement. "In light of the number of Americans who use the service to consume news and share with their friends, the White House is joining Snapchat to engage this broad cross-section of the population in new and creative ways."
