When Lefties Collide: Reich Disputes Crist on 'Amnesty'

National Review Online is attempting to clear up a confusion created by Charlie Crist.

In an article Monday, NRO quotes former Labor Secretary Robert Reich as denying he ever supported Crist's amnesty plan to "save" Social Security.

Ive said well have to increase legal immigration in order to secure the Social Security of boomers (otherwise, the ratio of working population to retirees gets too far out of whack), but dont recall saying anything more, Reich stated in an e-mail.

That's a bit different than Crist's scheme to grant amnesty to illegal aliens in an effort to expand the number of people paying into Social Security.

Where Reich favors more legal immigrants, Crist wants to make more illegals legal. Close enough for government work, Charlie?
