Welcoming President to Florida, RPOF Tees Off on Obama, Sink and Meek
The Republican Party of Florida (RPOF) joined U.S. Sen. George LeMiuex and former House Speaker Marco Rubio in welcoming President Barack Obama to Florida for a fund-raiser in Miami Beach on Wednesday night -- but quickly turned its fire on Democratic candidates running for office in the Sunshine State.
Ronnie Whitaker, executive director of the RPOF, fired away at U.S. Rep. Kendrick Meek who is running in a hotly contested Democratic primary with Jeff Greene for the U.S. Senate election.
When it comes to Kendrick Meek, at least Floridians know what they are getting a far-left liberal ally of Barack Obama whos embraced every left-wing socialist policy from government-run health care to card check with open arms, said Whitaker. Meek makes it a point to tout his support from Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid, leaving no question in voters minds that if elected to the United States Senate hell vote in lockstep with the Democrat leadership regardless of the consequences for his constituents.
Whitaker then took aim at state CFO Alex Sink, the overwhelming favorite for the Democratic gubernatorial nominee.
What I dont understand is how Alex Sink, who doesnt even mention her ties to the Democrat Party in her new campaign commercial, is now standing by President Obama and his left wing ideology as she raises funds for her gubernatorial campaign from this visit, said Whitaker. Sink says shes not bound by Washington politics or special interests, but her pocketbook speaks differently, featuring a decades-long record of making thousands of dollars in personal campaign contributions to liberal Washington insiders like Joe Biden, Al Gore, Barbara Boxer, Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama.
Whitaker continued to tee off on Sink, claiming that she is not the moderate that she attempts to present herself as.
Alex Sink claims to be one of us, but the records of those she campaigns with and contributes to coupled with her embrace of Obamacare the same health care plan endorsed by Fidel Castro and her silence on other critical issues speak differently, said Whitaker. Alex Sink has continued to support a liberal Democrat president under whose watch weve seen the national debt rise to historic levels, government takeover of the banking and auto industries, all while Floridas lost more than 150,000 jobs and seen an unemployment level over 11 percent,. Alex Sinks not one of us, shes a liberal Obama-Democrat.
