Virginia Shooter Once Worked for Tallahassee TV Station

The former employee suspected in a shooting that killed a cameraman and a TV anchor and injured the subject they were interviewing during a live television report in Moneta, Va. Wednesday morning worked for a Tallahassee TV station 15 years ago.

Vester Flanagan aka Bryce Williams
A former employee of WTWC has confirmed that Vester Flanagan worked at the Tallahassee station from 1999 through 2000. His on-air name was Bryce Williams.

Flanagan's LinkedIn profile claims he was an anchor and reporter.

During the station's Morning Show, he shot and killed reporter Alison Parker, 24, and photographer Adam Ward, 27, Wednesday morning while they were filming a live interview for CBS Roanoke affiliate WDBJ-TV.

“Vester was a happy-go-lucky guy, loved to joke … a regular type guy. It kind of shocks me that they’re looking for him as a cold-blooded murderer,” Jeff Walker, Flanagan's photographer while at WTWC, told WCTV Eyewitness News in Tallahassee.

CNN has since reported that Flanagan shot himself during police pursuit, but is still alive at this writing.

Parker was interviewing Vicki Gardner, executive director of the Smith Mountain Lake Regional Chamber of Commerce, when the shots rang out. Gardner was shot in the back, was taken for immediate surgery and is listed as critical but stable.
