Vern Buchanan: OPM Breach Shows Cyber Attacks a 'Clear and Present Danger'

With reports that U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) was breached by hackers who stole the personal information of millions of federal employees, U.S. Rep. Vern Buchanan, R-Fla., weighed in and took a shot at China where the attack is believed to have originated. 
 
“This week’s data breach is a stark reminder that cyber-warfare poses a clear and present danger to the privacy and security of the American people,” Buchanan said on Friday. “The national security implications of this incident are deeply disturbing since the evidence suggests that China may have been responsible. China has long been one of the world’s leading state sponsors of cyber-terrorism. I am confident the FBI’s investigation will uncover the truth about this very serious matter.”
