Vern Buchanan: Ahmed Abu Khatallah Needs to Face Military Tribunal for Role in Benghazi

U.S. Rep. Vern Buchanan, R-Fla., called for Ahmed Abu Khatallah, the alleged mastermind behind the Benghazi attacks which killed four Americans including Ambassador Christopher Stevens, to be tried by military tribunal instead of in civilian court.
Foreign terrorists who attack the United States should be treated as enemy combatants, not common criminals, Buchanan said on Wednesday. By no means should Abu Khatallah be entitled to the same rights as an American citizen. He should be immediately transferred to the U.S. Naval Station at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, where he can be interrogated, prosecuted and tried in military court.
