U.S. Rep. Vern Buchanan Endorsed by Opponent's Sister

Linda Huber, the sister of Democratic congressional candidate Keith Fitzgerald, today endorsed Republican U.S. Rep. Vern Buchanan's re-election, saying "Buchanan is exactly what we need in Congress."Huber praised Buchanans positive vision for creating jobs, restoring prosperity to America and protecting Medicare benefits for seniors.

Verns background as a businessman is exactly what we need in Congress, Huber said in a statement today released by the Buchanan campaign.I support his agenda to grow the economy and create jobs while protecting Medicare."

Huber also donated to Buchanans re-election campaign.

Huber, who lives in Kentucky, reached out to Buchanan last month to offer her endorsement.

"We're honored to have her support," said campaign spokeswoman Sally Tibbetts.

This is not the firstembarrassmentto hit the Fitzgerald campaign. Over the weekend, Sunshine State News reported outrage by a Manatee County Habitat for Humanity board member, who slammed the campaign for its "dishonest" appropriation of a quote by her in its claim that Buchanan "misled" Habitat in a land deal three years ago.
