U.S. Chamber Report: Legal Reforms Can Create Florida Jobs

A report from the U.S. Chamber Institute for Legal Reform claims Florida could save up to $3.2 billion and create up to 162,000 jobs simply by improving its legal environment.

In todays tough economic climate, Floridians are looking for ways to create more jobs while dealing with tight budgets. This new report shows that improving Floridas legal environment can deliver significant economic benefits, Lisa A. Rickard, president of the U.S. Chamber Institute for Legal Reform, stated in a release sent out by the Florida Chamber of Commerce.

The 38-page draft says Florida could reduce tort costs by 18.5 percent, which would potentially increase employment by between 0.73 percent and 1.98 percent.

The institute is an advocacy group founded by the U.S. Chamber focused on legal reform.
