U.S. Adds 192,000 Jobs in March, Unemployment 6.7 Percent

The U.S. economy added 192,000 jobs during the month of March, according to numbers released Friday by thethe U.S.Bureau of Labor Statistics.

March job numbers are slightly belowFebruary's revised total of 197,000 jobs added. Employers added a combined 37,000 more jobs in February and January than previously estimated.

The national unemployment rate stayed flat at 6.7 percent. The national labor force participation rate came in at 63.2 percent, up slightly from February.

The sectors that added the most jobs during March were business services with 57,000 jobs added, as well as health care and construction which each added 19,000 jobs. Local governments added 8,000 jobs, but those job gains were offset by a larger decline of 9,000 in federal government jobs.
