Union Prattle
The Florida Education Association, the state teachers union, complains the Florida House "is holding the final public hearing" of a controversial education bill in the middle of spring break ... "when they hope (teachers) are not watching or listening."
Wah, wah, wah.
Teachers are off during spring break. Free to raise cain. To protest. To march on the Capitol chanting slogans and waving placards. To make their case to representatives. Which, by the way, many of them plan to do this very day. In fact, in an effort to be fair, the House Education Policy Council has set aside an unprecedented 8 hours -- yes, EIGHT hours -- to give them a fair hearing.
If the bill's final hearing had been scheduled during a regular school week, the union would be whining the House deliberately left it until teachers were working and didn't have the time to fight back.
