Ultrasound Measure Goes to Crist

The House Speakers office just sent out word that HB 1143 has gone to the governor. This is the measure requiring women considering an abortion in the first trimester to have an ultrasound. Gov. Charlie Crist has 15 days if he chooses to sign the measure.
In the meantime, the leadership of Florida Right to Life is going all out to encourage its supporters to contact Crist to support the bill.
"We need a strong final push of support for this bill so Gov. Crist will know where the majority of his constituency stands on this issue," said Carrie Eisnaugle, president of Florida Right to Life, in a message to her backers.
