Two Vacancies at 1st DCA: Rick Scott Now Has Seven Names to Choose From

The Judicial Nominating Commission for the 1st District Court of Appeal last week submitted seven names to Gov. Rick Scott to consider for filling two vacancies created by the resignations of Judges Charles K. Kahn and Peter D. Webster. The seven are --

1. James H. Daniel, 43, Jacksonville.
2. Miguel A. Olivella, Jr., 57, Tallahassee.
3. Charles A. Stampelos, 60, Tallahassee.
4. Ronald V. Swanson, 62, Pensacola.
5. Jessica Enciso Varn, 41, Tallahassee.
6. Waddell A. Wallace, III, 58, Jacksonville.
7. Stephanie Williams Ray, 40, Tallahassee.

   The seven were chosen from among 16 applicants the Commission interviewed on April 20 and 21.
