Two Mayors Back Dan Gelber for AG
Sen. Dan Gelber, D-Miami Beach, announced two mayors were backing his bid to win the Democratic attorney general nomination on Thursday afternoon.
Dan has proven himself time and time again, as a federal prosecutor, state legislator, and active community volunteer, said Mayor Craig Lowe of Gainesville. The communities and groups hes involved with appreciate his compassion and constant dedication. Dans impressive legal background and deep experience in protecting Floridians makes him the perfect choice to serve as attorney general. I look forward to campaigning with him in Gainesville.
Dan Gelber is my choice for attorney general because he embodies the standards and integrity Floridians expect in their elected officials, said Wilton Manors Mayor Gary Resnick. Its time we have an attorney general who is equipped to handle the complex legal challenges that are ahead, and Dan is the most experienced candidate that is ready to lead on day one. Those that get to know Dan immediately see he will be the type of attorney general we need.
I am humbled to have the support of two great public officials who work in their local communities to deliver opportunities to their residents, said Gelber. Gary and Craig both understand that we desperately need a new direction for our state, and as attorney general I will work tirelessly to bring new opportunities and fresh ideas to the growing challenges we face.
Gelber faces Sen. Dave Aronberg of Greenacres in the primaryon Aug. 24.
