Tropical Storm Arthur Looms Over Florida's Central Atlantic Coast
Tropical Storm Arthur is expected to have little impact on Florida as it moves up to the Carolinas in the days to come. There is a tropical storm watch in effect on the Atlantic coast between Volusia and St. Lucie counties with winds up to 50 mph and heavy rains expected in the area.
Were monitoring Arthurs development and are staying in close communications with leaders on the ground should they need support, Gov. Rick Scott said on Tuesday afternoon. This event serves as an important reminder to all Florida families and visitors that hurricane season is here, and it is important that we remain vigilant and have a plan for protecting our families, our homes and our businesses. Families must get a plan and make sure theyre stocked up on critical storm supplies so our communities are prepared for the worst.
