Trial Lawyers Love Donating to Charlie Crist Campaign
Trial lawyers sure do love Charlie Crist.
At least that's what Friday's fundraising numbers seemed to suggest. The fundraising committee "Charlie Crist for Florida" posted its fundraising numbers, and the committee raised $872,000 in its first 12 days.
Over half of those donations -- $484,000 -- came from donors listed as attorneys or law firms. Crist is currently employed by big-time trial lawyer John Morgan, who is expected to start raising serious cash around the country for the gubernatorial candidate.
The biggest donation -- $250,000 -- came from Grossman Roth PA, a Coral Gables law firm.
Crist will have to put serious muscle into fundraising. "Let's Get to Work," a campaign committee supporting the re-election of Gov. Rick Scott, already has impressive numbers, boasting over $20 million in the bank, with $3.4 million raised in November alone.
