Tom Rooney: Obama Budget Will Help Bankrupt U.S.A.

Florida Republican U.S. Tom Rooney took aim at the federal budget proposed by Barack Obama for FY 2012.

The presidents budget would put us in the fast lane on the highway to bankruptcy. His budget adds $8.7 trillion in new spending, hikes taxes by $1.6 trillion, and increases the national debt by $13 trillion over the next decade. The president still just doesnt get it -- we cannot tax, borrow and spend our way to economic recovery, said Rooney on Monday. In stark contrast to the presidents reckless proposal, House Republicans this week are working to chart a new course. The historic spending-cut legislation on the floor this week will change the direction of our country and put us on the path toward fiscal responsibility, economic stability and job growth.
