Tom Rooney Commemorates 12th Anniversary of 9/11

U.S. Rep. Tom Rooney, R-Fla., issued the following statement Wednesday, the 12th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2011 terrorist attacks:

Today, we remember the thousands of innocent lives that were lost in the attack against our nation on Sept. 11, 2001," said Rooney. "We honor these fellow Americans and the loved ones who mourn them. We recognize the heroic first responders who rushed into Ground Zero, many not to return; our men and women in uniform who continue fighting to keep us safe; and our veterans who served their nation honorably. And today we remember those men who gave their lives defending our consulate in Benghazi on Sept. 11, 2012.

As the flame of liberty flickers from time to time, we must remain resolved to do all we can to prevent tragedies like these from occurring again. We will never forget.
