Rep. John Tobia, R-Melbourne Beach, has an opponent in next years Republican primary and could be facing a major threat.
Tobia raised $5,000-even in the third quarter of 2013 but spent almost $5,370 during the period. So far, Tobia has raised $27,350, loaned his campaign $5,000 and spent almost $18,625.
Conservative businessman Timothy Street, a veteran of the Marine Corps who also worked in federal law enforcement, entered the race on Aug. 1 and posted impressive fundraising numbers for that month and September. During that period, Street raised almost $25,000 and spent less than $1,440.
Adding to the $5 she raised earlier in the year, Democrat Santa Wright raised $615 during that period and spent less than $120.
