Tim Pawlenty Gets Backing of Eleven Florida House Members

Former Gov. Tim Pawlenty of Minnesota is not getting much support in the polls for his bid for the Republican presidential nomination -- but he is getting the backing of a bunch of Florida House members.

The Pawlenty camp announced on Friday that Janet Adkins of Fernandina Beach, Ben Albritton of Wauchula, Frank Artiles of Miami, Jason Brodeur of Sanford, James Grant of Tampa, John Tobia of Melbourne, Scott Plakon of Longwood and four representatives from Miami -- Ana Rivas Logan, Jeanette Nunez, Carlos Trujillo and Jose Oliva -- were all backing the former governor. They join incoming House Speaker Will Weatherford of Wesley Chapel and the next two speaker designates chosen by the Republican caucus, Chris Dorworth of Heathrow and Richard Corcoran of New Port Richey, in backing Pawlenty.

I am honored by the support of this accomplished group of legislators," Pawlenty said. "This is a geographically diverse group with the ability to unite the Florida conservative movement and appeal to various parts of the party. I look forward to working with them as they help convey my pro-growth message and record of results to Floridians."
