Thurman Links Crist, McCollum and Rubio to Greer

It did not take long for the Florida Democratic Party to weigh in on the arrest of former RPOF Chairman Jim Greer. State Democratic Chairwoman Karen Thurman is using Greers arrest to rally Florida voters to defeat his old allies running for office in 2010.

Thurman linked Greer to independent U.S. Senate candidate Charlie Crist and GOP gubernatorial candidate Bill McCollum. "While Greer was Gov. Charlie Crist's handpicked Republican chairman, Bill McCollum was Jim Greer's handpicked gubernatorial candidate, said Thurman. A fact Bill McCollum was happy to tout at the time, but now is trying to conveniently forget.

Thurman also linked GOP U.S. Senate candidate Marco Rubio to Greer. "Now with disgraced Republican Speaker Ray Sansom under indictment, former Republican Party Chair Jim Greer under arrest, and most of the Republican leadership in Florida, including Crist and Speaker Marco Rubio, under criminal investigation, Floridians are forced to watch the car wreck that has become the Republican Party of Florida and wonder which GOP party boss or elected official will be taken off in handcuffs next, said Thurman.
