Three More Debates Between Kendrick Meek and Jeff Greene Scheduled in August
The two leading candidates in the Democratic primary for the U.S. Senate election -- U.S. Rep. Kendrick Meek and billionaire financier Jeff Greene -- will hold three debates in the coming weeks.
The first debate will be held on Sunday, Aug. 1 on Bay News 9 in the Tampa Bay area. The second will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 10 at WKMG in Orlando and will be shown across CBS stations in Florida. The last will be Sunday, Aug. 15 on WPLG in South Florida.
It is long overdue for Jeff Greene to have a serious conversation on public policy, said Meek communications director Adam Sharon, ignoring the fact that his candidate already held a debate with Greene back on June 22. Kendrick looks forward to these debates."
While both Greene and Meek are way behind independent candidate Gov. Charlie Crist and likely Republican candidate former House Speaker Marco Rubio, both candidates have shown no hesitation in attacking one another. That was certainly the most memorable aspect of their debate in June. Look for more of the same in their debates in August.
