They'll Be Back: Crist and Sink to Support Anti-Oilers Wednesday
Together again.
Look for two of Florida's most recent formers, Gov. Charlie Crist and CFO Alex Sink, on the front steps of the Old State Capitol at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Crist and Sink, defeated in the November U.S. Senate and governor's races respectively, will join state legislators and representatives from a cross-section of statewide organizations in support of a constitutional ban on oil exploration and drilling in state waters.
According to a press release from the House Democratic office, if passed, House Joint Resolution 383 "would allow voters to decide if the Florida Constitution should be amended to permanently declare Florida an oil-free state."
The release also announces "a grass-roots movement" to put a drilling ban on the ballot in 2012.
