Ted Deutch to Lead Public Reading of Declaration of Independence
Submitted by Kevin Derby on July 2, 2013 - 4:50pm
After signing the Declaration of Independence, Congress asked for it to be proclaimed in each of the United States and public readings were held throughout July 1776 across the new nation.
With that in mind, it's fitting that U.S. Rep. Ted Deutch, D-Fla., will be leading a community reading of the Declaration of Independence to honor Independence Day on Thursday.
Deutch and others will read the Declaration on Thursday morning at the Lawton Chiles Pavilion by the South County Civic Center in Delray Beach. The event starts at 9:30 am.
