Tampa Bay Pounded By Rain, Floods Close Roads

Tampa Bay could become Florida's very own ground zero for Noah's Ark 2.0 after 22 straight days of rain have left most of the area flooded and underwater.

Heavy rains have pounded much of Florida in recent weeks due to an area of stalled low pressure , but the Tampa Bay region has been the hardest hit. Each day of rainfall has produced around three to four inches, totaling around 20 inches of rain in two weeks.

Major roads were shut down in the Tampa area and many cars were stalled out due to high water levels. Some areas were evacuated due to flood risks.

Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn offered sandbags to residents to help divert flood water.
