Taking Aim at Mitt Romney, Fred Karger Will Stick With the GOP

GOP presidential hopeful Fred Karger, a veteran Republican strategist and campaign operative, told Sunshine State News that he has no intention of bolting the party. While he is not on the ballot in Florida, Karger is focusing on Michigan. Maryland, North Carolina and Puerto Rico are also on his radar screen.

Karger is taking aim at GOP primary rival Mitt Romney. Karger unveiled 12 years of tax returns last week -- much like George Romney, Mitts father, did during the 1968 campaign cycle. Karger even stopped by the George Romney Institute for Law and Public Policy at Adrian College in Michigan last week.

Unlike other dark-horse candidates -- Gary Johnson who has gone over to the Libertarian Party and Buddy Roemer who is running for the Americans Elect nomination -- Karger told Sunshine State News that he would not consider leaving the GOP and that he hopes to steer it back to the middle. Im not going anywhere, he said, pointing to his decades as a Republican.
