Surprise, Surprise: Rick Scott Is NOT So Unpopular After All
It's time to stop quoting Rick Scott's approval rating at 29 percent and it's probably time to stop calling him "the most unpopular governor in the United States." That's all old news.
A Viewpoint Florida poll conducted last week found that 45 percent of likely 2012 general election voters in Florida approve of Scotts recent job performance, while 51 percent of voters disapprove.
Viewpoint Florida polls are conducted by two GOP firms, but their crosstabs -- the means of judging validity for yourself -- are readily available.
Breaking along partisan lines, Scott received strong support among Republicans -- 72 percent approve of his job performance; Democrats clocked just 21 percent approval.
Women, voters 18-34 years of age and registered Democrats were the most likely to "strongly disapprove" of Scotts administration. But those "without party affiliation" split this way: 43 percent approved of his performance so far, 53 percent did not.
Scott's job approval numbers now mirror those of President Barack Obama nationally.
The study, conducted June 16, polled 1,235 registered Florida voters likely to vote in the 2012 general election. The margin of error is +/- 2.8 percent. Check out the full results for yourself.
