Steve Southerland Points to Job Creation in Panama City
Earlier this week, U.S. Rep. Steve Southerland, R-Fla., helped launch the Bravante VI which was built by the Eastern Shipbuilding Group in Panama City for the Bravante Group. The ship will be based in Brazil, home of the Bravante Group. By creating ships for Bravante, Eastern Shipbuilding has created 300 jobs in the area and helped create more than 1,500 ancillary jobs.
Eastern Shipbuilding Groups partnership with Bravante reflects Northwest Floridas tremendous potential as a leader in innovation and economic growth for years to come, Southerland said in a statement on Tuesday. The launch of the Bravante VI should serve as a powerful moment for all Northwest Floridians fighting to grow jobs in our community. I appreciate Brian DIsernias leadership in making this project a reality, as well as the hundreds of highly-skilled, local workers whose sweat and dedication culminated in Mondays launch.
