State Wants to Track Green Jobs
Is your business going green? The state agency that tracks work force statistics wants to know.
The Agency for Work Force Innovation is completing the first statewide registry of green jobs, and is sending surveys to 60,000 businesses to find out how many green jobs are being created.
Green jobs provide an excellent opportunity to put people back to work in a growing industry as our state continues its economic recovery, said Director Cynthia Lorenzo. With the recent opening of Florida Power & Lights Desoto Next Generation Solar Energy Center, Florida is already home to the largest solar photovoltaic facility in the nation. The results of this inaugural green jobs survey will assist in the expansion of green technology in Florida, the diversification of our economy and the preservation of our valuable natural resources.
