State Board of Education to Discuss Florida Standards Assessment Test Scores
The Florida State Board of Education will meet Friday via conference call, according to an email from the Florida Department of Education.
On tap for the meeting's agenda is the proposed cut scores for the Florida Standards Assessment, which was first administered this spring.
Commissioner of Education Pam Stewart released her cut score recommendations at the end of September. Under Stewart's proposal, nearly half of Florida's 10th graders would fail the English Language Arts portion of the FSA.
When a standardized test is administered for the first time, the Florida Department of Education seeks input from the public on how to set achievement levels The state board then votes on the recommendations, which is scheduled to take place in January.
