Spirit Twice-a-Day Flights to Cuba from South Florida Take Off Dec. 1
Subject to Cuban government approval, low-cost Spirit Airlins will begin Dec. 1 to offer twice-daily service to Havana’s José Martí International Airport in Havana (HAV) from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL).

In addition to this new nonstop service, Spirit plans to provide connecting service from an additional 20 U.S. cities via Fort Lauderdale. Havana will become Spirit’s 59th destination and 13th Caribbean airport. It will follow the additions of service at Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) and at the Akron-Canton Airport (CAK) later this year.
Spirit’s new flights to Cuba are already available for purchase. Tickets will include Cuban government-required health insurance and applicable taxes. Any customer traveling to Cuba must meet one of 12 approved travel categories outlined here by the U.S. Department of Treasury.
