Sink Using Campaign Site to Lobby Obama on Gulf Oil Spill

This is an interesting tactic to get visitors to a political Web site. State CFO Alex Sink is using the Web site for her gubernatorial campaign to send messages to her fellow Democrat, President Barack Obama, about the Gulf Coast.

It's not every day you have the president's ear, wrote Sink in an e-mail to her supporters. But tomorrow I will be with President Obama as he tours Florida's Gulf Coast, and sees for the first time how BP's oil leak is impacting Floridians.

Sink is encouraging Floridians to leave messages that she will send on to the president. We need to be sure the president leaves Florida with a full understanding of how this leak has wreaked havoc on our economy, our environment, and our livelihoods, wrote Sink. To make that happen, we've set up a system to collect your thoughts and messages. So please take the next two minutes to send your message to the president -- and then I will make sure he hears what Floridians are saying.
