Sink and Kottkamp File on Busy Morning at Division of Elections
Its been a busy morning at the Division of Elections in Tallahassee.
State CFO Alex Sink filed her paperwork to run for governor and the Democratic candidate spoke to the media and to cheering supporters. As the Sink team was setting up, former Leon County Democratic Party Chairman Rick Minor was walking out, having just filed his paperwork to take on Rep. Michelle Rehwinkel Vasilinda.
Not long after the Sink team left, Lt. Gov. Jeff Kottkamp filed his paperwork in a tight battle for the Republican attorney general nomination.
By officially qualifying, today marks the dash to the finish line to be the Republican nominee for attorney general, said Kottkamp. Ive been preparing to be our states chief legal officer my entire career. Im encouraged by the support I have received from all across the state. I know that as Floridians begin to realize the importance of the attorney general's race, they will send someone to Tallahassee who has a proven track record and is prepared to do the job on day one.
