Shawn Harrison Gets Backing of 5 GOP Legislators

Former Rep. Shawn Harrison is getting the support of some of his former colleagues in the Florida House as he looks to return to Tallahassee. Harrison is already running hard against Rep. Mark Danish, D-Tampa, who represents parts of Hillsborough County.

On Thursday, Harrison announced Deputy Whip Elizabeth Porter, R-Lake City, Rep. Jim Boyd, R-Bradenton, Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Shalimar, Rep. Ray Pilon, R-Sarasota, and Rep. Greg Steube, R-Sarasota, were backing his campaign.

Today I am humbled to announce the endorsements of five good friends and prior colleagues in the Florida House, Harrison said on Thursday. Having served together as freshmen with Deputy Whip Elizabeth Porter, Chairman Matt Gaetz, Chairman Jim Boyd, and Vice Chairs Greg Steube and Ray Pilon, it is particularly rewarding to have these individuals -- who I respect greatly and who I also am proud to call my friends -- endorse my campaign to return to the Florida House of Representatives.
