Leslie Dougher is picking up more endorsements in the final hours before the Republican Party of Florida votes to elect its next chair.
On Friday, Republican National Committee Chair Sharon Day tipped her hat to Dougher, saying she should be re-elected as RPOF chairwoman.
Day noted it's typical for RNC members to stay out of the election process, but ultimately decided to offer her public support for Dougher. Earlier this week, RNC committeeman Peter Feaman endorsed Kurt Kelly for the position of chair.
"No matter how hard we may look there is no perfect chairman we will never find that one individual that fits our every need," wrote Day. "Each chairman has their own style, faces their own challenges, has their own strengths and weaknesses, and serves in their own unique time and each chairman leads our party to success or failure. We were successful and Leslie deserves to share that success."
The official vote for RPOF chair will be held Saturday in Orlando.
