Senate Votes to Repeal Charlie Crist’s Greenhouse Gas Standards

Another law signed by former Gov. Charlie Crist but that failed to be implemented is headed toward repeal.

The Senate voted 35-5 Thursday to send House Bill 4001 to Gov. Rick Scott.

The House backed the bill last week.

The bill would repeal the greenhouse gas emission reduction standards that Crist signed into law in 2007.

The bill sought to roll back the CO2 emission rates of electric utilities in Florida to 1990 standards by 2025.
